Project 1 – Temple of Antithesis
This project revolves around the creation of sacred spaces. It moves from the examination of the artificial extreme interior to the artificial extreme exterior: a place where the landscape rather than the interior has been manipulated to create a manufactured condition of fun. The project focuses on considering Blackpool’s landscape as a Temple of Antitheses, a place of non-religious ceremony, sanctuary, and memory that the transient and settled communities of Blackpool, a place to gather, a place to share and a place to be alone.
Project 2 – Made in Blackpool
The “Made in Blackpool” project brief aims to build upon the knowledge and understanding of Blackpool and continue critical and creative analysis of the Blackpool territory. During the project we considered Blackpool not only as a tourist destination, but also as a place to live and create. By exploring Blackpool, we gained an understanding the characteristics that constitute a place in order to create new architectural typologies of creativity and productivity.
