Distance

My practice explores the relationship between technology and traditional painting. I create painted animations that focus on the in-between moments, whether it be when we are reflecting, daydreaming or simply waiting for the bus home. These moments are a central part of our everyday experience, and this time-based project reflects pauses and repetitions that ordinarily go unacknowledged.

Producing frame by frame animations, each painting is erased and made again in repetition. Combining painting with technology, I aim to produce a contemporary reflection of the present day, inviting the audience to relate to the environments I depict.

Distance

Distance explores a year of experiences from my own perspective, and addresses the changes in which the current pandemic has brought upon us.
